In this guide, we will first flash TWRP recovery and then using, the chain fire’s SuperSU we will Root Tecno L5.

Preps| Downloads:

Perform full backup for all important data on the Tecno.
Install VCOM USB driver at the PC before proceedings. [Download page].
Do charge the battery of L5 sufficiently.
Download SP Flash tool in the PC you are using for the process. [Link].
Download Recovery image file from this link. [Click here].
Download SuperSU from chainfire. [Link].

Install TWRP.

Download recovery zip file and then Unzip. You will get ‘img’ and ‘MT6580_ Android_Scatter.txt’
Now completely power off.
Then double click “SPFlashtool.exe” to run the SP Flash tool at the PC.
Now click the Download/ Upgrade button and then click on scatter loading button.
Next, browse and add the file ‘txt’. Then click download to start the process.
Now connect L5 to PC and press the Volume down Now flashtool detects the Tecno L5.

Copy the SuperSU’ to phone internal storage.
Now disconnect, then Power off L5 safely.
Next, boot L5 into Recovery mode TWRP, hold pressed the Volume down+ Power at once.
In recovery menu tap “Install” then install zip file and add the SuperSU file and continue.
Now come back to main recovery menu, tap “Reboot”.
Run SuperSU from the main app drawer. Update binary and click normally.
