Preparation:-

  • Charge your device up to 70%.
  • Take the full backup of your LG G Flex2.
  • Enable the USB debugging mode on your phone.
  • Download USB drivers for  LG G Flex 2: Link
  • Use original data cable to create the connection between your PC and your phone.

Steps to Root LG G Flex 2 Sprint LS996-ZV6 or LS996-ZV7on Android 5.1:

  1. First of all, Download the rooting image for the LG G Flex 2 ZV6 or ZV7.
  2. Now download the rooting file: Link
  3. Extract both zip files on the desktop of your computer.
  4. Now connect the LG G Flex 2 smartphone to the computer via the USB data cable.
  5. Move the rootedsystem.image file from the desktop to the device internal storage.
  6. Unplug your device from the computer and turn it off.
  7. Reboot holding the Volume Up key only and connecting it to the computer at
  8. the same time (no Power button yet).
  9. Double-click on the ports.bat file that’s also on the desktop of your computer.
  10. Write down the number of your COM port, i.e. [COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4].
  11. From the desktop, hold down the Shift key and right-click the mouse to bring up a new menu.
  12. Choose to “open the command prompt Window” from that new menu.
  13. Now type the first command: Send_Command.exe \\.\your-COM
    – replace the “your-COM” for your COM port number.
  14. Press the Enter / return key to confirm that command.
  15. Type the 2nd command and press Enter: id
  16. Type the 3rd command and hit Enter: dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 bs=8192 skip=58368 count=522240 of=/data/media/0/system.img
  17. Type the 4th command and press Enter: dd if=/data/media/0/rootedsystem.img bs=8192 seek=58368 count=522240 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
  18. Type the 5th command: LEAVE

That’s it, your device will reboot shortly and it will boot up in the normal mode. Now your LG G Flex 2 smartphone is successfully rooted and you can easily install those apps which need root access.
