Preparation:

Steps to Root Galaxy Note Edge and Note 4 running Android 5.1.1

Step-1 Connect your device to your PC via USB cable and copy the downloaded kernel file specific to your device and the SuperSU zip file on the root folder of your device storage.

Step-2 After copying both file, disconnect your device from PC, and turn it off completely.

Step-3 Now boot your device in Recovery mode [Press and hold Volume Down+ Center Home+ Power button together until you see a warning screen], then head over to Recovery mode.

Step-4 Once you are on TWRP recovery screen, take a backup of your existing kernel, select “backup” then “backup the boot image” only.

Step-5 Then on go back and on recovery main menu select “Install” and then choose the kernel file that you have copied earlier.

Step-6 Then also install SuperSU copied file, with click “Install” on recovery main menu. Select SuperSU and confirm.

Step-7 once installation gets completed, tap on “Reboot system” to reboot your device normally.

Step-8 Now after boot up, search SuperSU app on the device main app drawer, open it and “update binaries” and then choose “Normal”.

Step-9 If opens without any error it means you done if it hangs for a long time then reboot your device and try again.
