Preparations:

  • Use an original USB data cable for smooth connectivity
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode on your device, tap on [Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging]
  • Your device has to be rooted and latest updated Custom Recovery (TWRP/CWM) should be installed on it.

Steps to flash CM 12.1 Android 5.1.1 Stable ROM on Galaxy Note 8 Wi-Fi N5110

Step-1: Connect the Note 8 to your PC via USB cord and copy both the downloaded files Firmware ROM.ZIP and Gapps.ZIP on root internal storage of your device. [Don’t unzip/ copy into subfolder]

Step-2: Then unplug the device from your PC after both the files are successfully copied.

Step-3: Next switch off your device, and boot into Custom Recovery Mode.

  • [Press and hold Volume Down+ Home+ Power buttons together] and release the buttons when the warning screen displays, then press Volume Up to confirm.

Step-4: Now create a backup image of your existing ROM, tap

  • On CWM: select ‘backup and restore’
  • On TWRP: select ‘backup’

Step-5: Next perform Factory Reset on your device,

  • On CWM: select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’.
  • On TWRP: select ‘wipe’.

Step-6: after that initiate the CM 12.1 Stable Android 5.1.1 ROM installation:

  • On CWM: select ‘install zip from sdcard’, then ‘choose zip from sdcard’.
  • On TWRP: select ‘install’ option.

Step-7: search and select the ROM.zip file and confirm the flashing process.

Step-8: Then repeat step-6 and step-7 but Install the Gapps zip this time. And confirm installation

Step-9: Next reboot your device from main recovery menu, when installations are done,
